NYC Halloween Events

Here are a few NYC Halloween Events worth blogging about!

Village Halloween Parade
All those in costume are welcome to join hundreds of puppets, 53 bands, dancers, artists, and thousands of New Yorkers in costumes of their own creation in the
Nation's Most Wildly Creative Public Participatory Event in the Greatest City in the World!

For those joining the parade
Meet at 6th Avenue South of Spring Street and North of Canal between 6:30For all those in costume is on 6th Avenue South of Spring Street and North of Canal between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
Alert! ONLY enter the line-up on 6th Ave. from the East and South between Canal and Spring!

For those watching the parade street-side
On 6th Avenue from Spring Street to 21st Street from 7:00pm - 10:30pm

For those not able to make it to the city
TV: WPIX CHANNEL 11: 7:00pm - 10:00pm, and on NY 1: 8:00pm - 9:30pm

After the parade end up at Webster Hall to continue the Halloween Festivities:
When you get to the end of the Parade at 16th Street, hang a right towards Fifth Avenue to the party at Webster Hall (125 E. 11th St.)! They give a $5,000 prize for best costume somewhere around midnight!

The scandalous escapades and scintillating guises of its bewitching creatures of the night will surely be the talk and toast of the town! It’s too sinfully sexy and decadently wicked to pass up!

Capitale's Halloween extravaganza is as big, bold and vivacious as the venue itself. Constructed in 1893 in Beaux Arts architecture, Capitale boasts an immense 40,000sf, multi-level, multi-room layout including two ballrooms and three private VIP rooms - ideal for partygoers to mix, mingle, frisk, frolic and cavort the night away in supreme style. The Grand Venetian Ballroom lined with tall Corinthian columns, marble mosaic floors and stunning glass evokes the mystery and romance of Venice, bedazzling its guests with classic European charm and sophistication.

Highlights of Capitale's foray into Halloween's pomp and pageantry include:

One hour vodka open bar (9pm-10pm)
World renowned live DJ concert with sets of hip hop, rock, dance, ‘80s and mash-ups from a state of the art sound system overlooking the massive dance floor under a magnificent 65' beautifully decorated coved ceiling.

Contest Rules
The first dogs to arrive in costume will compete in Round 1. A winner and numerous runner ups will be awarded prizes at the end of that round. Winners claim their prize at the end of the round -- or the prize is forfeited. Then we go on to next group of dogs for Round 2, & 3.

Best In Show
This year's "Best in Show" wins a new iPod. The winner will be selected from the winners of the previous rounds and will be announced at the end of the day. Best in Show will be posted on website and the winner has 30 days to collect their iPod or prize will be donated to charity. There are many other prizes awarded at the end of each round.

iPOD Raffle
Another iPod Winner will be drawn from the raffle at the end of the runway competition and will be posted to website. Winner has 30 days to collect their iPod or prize will be donated to charity.

Admission
Admission to the event is a suggested $5 Raffle ticket sold at the door. There is no fee to enter your dog in the competition. The first round begins shortly after 12 Noon. Admission to the final round should plan to arrive no later than 2 p.m.
